Glossy, glamorous nails are on every ladies wish list right now. We all want perfectly manicured nails that we see trending on Instagram. Nail Bars are popping up everywhere to meet this demand. Manicures are a "must have" right now and not just something we treat ourselves to for a special occasion.
However, while we all strive to have perfectly manicured nails that last two to three weeks are we caring for our natural nails underneath this glossy topcoat?
Most woman who visit Creative Hands Nail & Beauty Salon for the first time are not aware of the importance of daily nail oil usage and are shocked when I tell them that its essential to apply nail oil daily when wearing a shellac polish. This will not only keep the natural nail hydrated which is vital, it will also keep nails supple which will ensure you get longer out of your gel polish. WIN WIN!!
Dehydrated, brittle nails is mainly what I come across when I see new clients or clients who have not followed the home care advice. The causes of brittle nails can be too much water exposure, seasonal changes or over use of chemical nail products (Nail polish remover etc)
This is a simple natural remedy that I recommend to treat brittle nails.
Apple Cider Vinegar is rich in minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium and vitamins. All these are essential to grow long, strong , healthy nails. It also contains anti bacterial properties which prevent nail infections. Its a fantastic product and I cannot recommend it highly enough for your overall health and wellbeing.
How to use:
Always dilute Apple Cider Vinegar in equal parts water. Soak your nails for ten minutes, dry and apply a hydrating nail oil. Its as simple as that. However I do recommend you do it three nights a week for three weeks. Apple Cider Vinegar can also be a refreshing drink that many people have first thing in the morning. Taken internally will also benefit your nails.
