Benefits of Dry Brushing
Its time to start prepping your skin for "Tan Thursday" and the best advice we can offer is to "Dry Brush". Dry Brushing is the perfect way to prep your skin prior to a spray tan. There are so many other health benefits also. We have listed some below.
What is Dry Brushing?
Dry Brushing is an ancient exfoliating technique that is practiced all over the world. It is simply brushing your skin with a dry natural bristle brush just like the ones above. You can purchase these in Pharmacies , TESCO or any good health store. I am sure I have spotted them in Natures Gold, Greystones.
What are the benefits of Dry Brushing?
1. Exfoliates Dry Skin: If you are looking for a more youthful appearance & glow then Dry Brushing is a must! The natural bristles will remove dead skin cells and stimulate blood flow. You will notice a difference in your skin instantly.
2. Reduces Cellulite: Increasing blood flow and stimulating cells means that any toxins underneath the skin will start to break down. This will even out your skin tone. Drinking 2ltrs of water daily will help eliminate the fat deposits from your body.
3. Stimulates Lymphatic System: Dry Brushing helps the skin to detoxify which stimulates the lymphatic system to work faster and more effectively.
4. Reduces Stress: Similar to a massage, dry brushing your skin helps you to relax and reduces anxiety.
5.Unclogs Pores: This allows your skin to absorb more nutrients and improves the overall appearance of the skin.
6: Improves Circulation: Eliminating toxins and helps to reduce stubborn cellulite even more.
How to use your Bristle Brush:
Dry brush your skin before your morning shower. The above diagram shows the direction you should brush your skin. Start with the bottoms of your feet and brush upwards towards your heart. Avoid the face area. You can purchase a specific bristle brush for this area. Repeat the brushing technique twice. The entire body should only take 5 mins. Once you have covered the entire body have your shower. After your shower use a natural moisturiser all over the body. You will instantly feel lighter and you will notice your skin glowing. We recommend you dry brush at least four times a week for the first month and then twice a week to maintain the results.
